Default Mr. Wolfe's Interlagos Build Journal

Ok, I have been putting this build journal off long enough. I figured it would take so much energy to get it started, but figured I needed to start it at some point. I am not in the meat and potatoes of my build yet, but will be shortly. I am still collecting parts so once I get going, there will be some furious progress.

For those who don’t know me, my name is Greg Wolfe and I live in a small town about 40 miles north of Pittsburgh called Kittanning. My first e46 M3 was a 2003 Steel Gray on Black.

Followed by a 2003 Alpine on Cinnamon, (which my cousin bought - yay!)

Quick pictures of my DD.

Followed by my latest M3.

My plan and reason for buying this car is because the e46 M3 is my favorite car of all time. Yes, still - after all of this time, my favorite. I have thought about buying other cars such as the NSX or building another kit car, but nothing ticks all of the boxes for me like the e46 M3. Once I realized there was nothing else better (for me), I decided I wanted to buy the newest e46 M3 I could and just keep it forever. I mean, why not? They aren’t going to make this car again and let’s face it, low mileage examples are getting harder and harder to find.

After owning a few M3’s, I got to know what I liked best and what I would do differently given the chance. I decided I wanted to build a top-end M3 as if I was building my best M3 possible. Instead of OEM+, I am thinking of this build as CSL+. What if there was an optional M3 CSL with a 6MT, much more N/A hp, better suspension, wider tires, and yet still carried all of the creature comforts we want out of our M3’s? What if we just took everything up a notch, but maintained the classic beautiful lines of the e46 M3? I wonder if I can build an aggressive looking car, that could fool people as a factory built car? i.e., I don’t want the car to stand out as an aftermarket car, not that it is bad thing.

This is going to be good! Congrats man! I honestly want to do the same and by an extremely low mileage example and keep it forever in a few years as a second M3.
