Wheels are manufactured overseas with strict guidelines to ensure quality control, as there are only a handful of 10,000-Ton presses in the world. It's unlikely most wheel manufacturer own their own press, as most forgings are contracted out. A lot of the wheels companies you know and respect contract work out through various factories throughout the lifespan. As long as the experience and quality control is there - the end result remains unaffected.

Wheels need to be super strong, look good and offered within an competitive price point. Titan7 is offering all three.

Not immediately, but likely in the near future.

Not to be a pain but their website says:

"We manufacture our wheels 100% in-house utilizing 10,000 TONS of industry leading pressure. Each design is fully optimized with the latest software analysis, laboratory testing, and real world track use."- Titan 7 website, Titan-7.com.

So are they contracted out or are they 100% in house?

Perfect timing, just replied to the same question on the other forum.

"In-House" means that Titan7 wheels are all made in one single facility. For example, some wheel companies will import forgings from an outsource and then machine their wheels in their facility. Titan7 makes their wheels from start to finish in the same facility which means total quality control, and presses wheels to 10,000 tons which nobody else does in the US.

This results in a more dense and strong wheel at a great value with limited structural lifetime warranty.

So when companies like Rays and BBS tout they are all in house - they are simply stating that they have complete quality control compared to most other wheel companies, which is a good thing.

A lot of wheel companies don't actually make their wheels - they are importers. Titan7 are fully vested partners with their factory in China, where they bring their wheel expertise in engineering, product planning, design and features while we utilize their hardware to distribute great wheels. We're being fully transparent, no nonsense/fancy marketing and trying to bring high value performance product back to the industry - while making an attempt to "up" the wheel game.

In the end, the consumer is rewarded with a great wheel that is street & track ready at an affordable price.

Interesting definition of "in house" when that house is not Titan-7's.
How are they not importers like others you refer to, if the wheels come from partners in China?
And what's the point of saying "nobody else in the US" if Titan-7 are coming from China?
Not challenging, just making sense of your response. Appreciate your transparency even if sugar coated.

Why "nobody else in the US" if Titan-7 also coming from China?
We're not making the wheels in our facility, we're shipping product, servicing BMWs day in and out, on the dyno or the track. However, we will be distributing Titan7s wheels on the West Coast and providing continous feedback on fine tuning fitment with various tires/suspension setups, and feedback on the street/track. While you can source a fully US made wheel, it will come at a substantially higher cost and lesser quality if they are not pressing forgings at the same specs.

Most wheels that are sold in the marketplace change through many hands. And most sourced from Asia (either Japan or China), including the big-name US and German companies. For example, you will have a factory ship to a broker > which is then shipped overseas to an importer > which is purchased by a distributor > then to a shop > then to the consumer.

We ship to you essentially factory direct, cutting out the middleman - putting the savings back in your pocket.

We are not in the business of overcharging our customers. We are offering a technically superior wheel to many of the Forged wheel companies in the USA while pricing them for much less. A win-win situation.
