Default Airbag light?

I bought a new center steering wheel emblem and I popped the stock one off. The stock one had some metal prongs around the perimeter. Ever since I took the oem one off my airbag light is on. By taking that stock emblem off, could that of triggered a sensor or anything??? thanks

I believe there are a few things that can set that light off-the seat belt sensor is one of them-if the vehicle is hit, the seatbelt automatically retracts, and I think it needs to be replaced if it happens.
The positive battery cable will also set of the airbag light-there is a small explosive in the cable that breaks the connection upon impact. it can be reconnected, but the light will remain on until it is replaced.
I do not think the emblem would do it though.

I had a problem with the Airbag light in my car. I finally figured out that it was my passenger side airbag sensor. Like when someone would get in and out of my car real quickly. Or they sit in the seat and get out later and i dont turn the car off, the light would go on.. But i just put some pressure on the seat. The light would go off.
Just my 2 cents

I noticed that my seatbelt (drivers side) doesnt retract all the way after I unbuckle it. Is this what you are referring to? If thats the case, I'm wondering why it would come on now, I've had the car for 3 months with that same seatbelt issue and it only came on this past weekend.

No-that is a different issue-mine does the same thing-I htink we need to replace the spring rewind mechanism that is in the pillar near the rear armrest. The air bag senor part is on the other end of the belt-the latch that you click into-that part retracts upon impact.

I bought an interior out of a car that was hit in the front end. I am getting an airbag light that is related to the drivers seat. The tech told me to check all of my connections under the seat and he would reset it again. I am thinking now that it may be the tensioner after reading that it has to be replaced after an accident. Does that make sense and if so what would it cost and is it diy?

you can get the SRS read by a GT1. from there it will tell you which SRS sensor triggered it. most of the time it can be your seat belts.
