Default e90 prices now through rest of year?

Anyone else in the market for an e90? I'm seeing fewer listings with seemingly bloated asking prices than a few months ago. What have you seen?

When will the bigger drop happen - right when the official F80 release occurs, or after they're on lots?

It's not a fun time to be a buyer with the new one due out so soon and asking prices being so high. Heck, even entertained the idea of a new IS-F for low $60's. Or just deal with the practicality loss and buy an e92. Also did a test drive in the 335i M-sport but didn't care for the steering, suspension, and was underwhelmed by the acceleration (given the car's torquey reputation). For now I guess I'm going to be patient and wait/see.

E90's are pretty hard to find. I bought mine last year and had to do a 24 hours round trip to go get it You'll have better luck finding a E92/93.

On the other m3 l forum I've seen prices pretty much on par with a few months ago

E90s from 08 go for 38k and prices climb to fifty for newer ones.

I expect prices will drop once the new one comes out but I doubt it'll be very significant

Orders have ended for the E92. Only E93's can be ordered at this point, as per my contact at BMW.

yes and I'm seeing fewer listings in the $60's, though some exist. Yeah yeah supply and demand but it seems like there's a lot of lofty asking prices out there and I often PM new owners and few of them are paying close to asking prices.

Asking 60 is pretty ludicrous IMHO as that's probably what they paid for in the first place. Between dealer discounts and euro delivery they expect to take zero depreciation for a 2 year old asset.

Remember that these people will always exist. People show up to the e46m board asking insane prices for highly desirable cars.

I think the new m3 will bring down most of the BS prices we're seeing, but some highly desirable ones will always fetch higher prices.

I'm not sure why people are asking premiums for their E90s - and I'm an E90 owner. Yeah these will probably be the last high rev'ing NA motors but c'mon, it's not like there are only 5000 made or something. Last time I checked most cars depreciate.

Incorrect. On the west coast they are plenty. Maybe not so much on the east coast but what I have learned is the east coast does not have much of anything. Thats reality.

OP look west and in Oregon and Washington.

I'm looking for one still and having a hell of a time buying one from a legitimate seller that doesn't want a stupid amount of money for their e90.

Am just going by my own experience. When I was looking I could find plenty of E92/93's in a 25 to 100 mile radius but absolutely no E90's. I finally gave up and extended my search to almost all of the east coast and found only a couple of E90's. The point I am making is that there will always be way more E92's available than E90's. It's because way more E92/93's sold. Simple math.

That said any car will only sell for what a buyer is willing to pay for it. It's pretty much the case with every commodity. I sold my 2003.5 E46M last year for 29.5k. It had 35k miles and was in pristine shape. That was a 10 year old car with a KBB value of 22k. The buyer got tired of looking for a clean low mile E46M and paid the premium. It also helped that he was local. That's just how it goes. The OP will need to be patient to find the car he is looking for at the price he thinks is fair.
