i don't think OP is in this for the money, rather the interest/hobby of working on/restoring more than one of the same type of car he likes a lot. That also means this is not classified as effort but more pleasure in his book.

My wife would kill me in my sleep if I started "collecting" M3s. I'm jealous.
I would love a Dakar and schwarz sedan, or Hellrot on Modena, or Boston on Modena... I friggin' wanna collect 'em all too! Sedans only tho...

Yeah. That's my poll. Thanks for finding that.

Its a matter of staying focused. Sure, I could become knowledgeable about several makes and models, but expertise is more valuable. Being a "Jack of all Trades and Master of None" is what I'm trying to avoid. On the other hand, the 36Ms will eventually be gone and I'll have to venture into 46Ms. 46M production was double anyway.

I couldn't agree with you more Eric. I applaud what you're doing - I think the e36 M3 is special and it's worth saving as many of them as we can. I'm slowly restoring my Estoril/Schwarz and I'm having a ball with it. I just spent $450 today for a very experienced PDR guy to meticulously go over the entire car and he removed dents on 6 panels! I recently did a flywheel/clutch/tranny/gear shift refresh and I've learned a great deal in the process - the next e36 M3 will be much easier. I will likely have much more in it than what it's worth, but that's fine with me. I hope to be enjoying this car 40 years from now
