That is what I have right now. I hear it at startup and again when accelerating...

I just had a new belt put on at an Indy a week or 2 ago and I thought this must be the problem. Either they didnt set the tensioner correctly or its defective, or the belt is defective.

If your facing the engine bay its on the left side. Black round canister thats right next to the windshield washer reservoir. Worth a test.

For my issue, which is likely seperate from the OPs, I will be using an auto stethoscope tomorrow when mosill comes over to help me with the test, so I can isolate exactly where the whistle is coming from...

So it was a faulty tensioner pulley? Can you tell if you have a faulty pulley by spinning w/ the belt off?

So you had the belt changed and not the tensioner pulley? Did they check to see if the pulley was bad?

No I have been lazy...I expected the sound to get worse over time but so far it has stayed the same. Going to get the drive belts replaced and pulley inspected soon.

Just got my car back from getting the drive belts changed and pulley's inspected, and it's still making a high pitch screetching noise upon cold start. My mechanic said that the pulley's were fine. I'm not sure what to check next?

Your engine has more vibration in it than normal and you can hear a "knock" when we revved it up that night. I would check to see when they did your recall on the motor and see what they said about it.

before i actually found my issue, it was very intermittent and the issue for some reason only appeared when i was driving. so one time, i started the car in front of the mechanic and pointed, saying "do you hear now?" they then replaced pulleys and no issue any longer... your AC on? might be a AC tensioner pulley...
