2 series is what the current 1 Series Coupe SHOULD have been called just like the current E92 3 Series Coupe should have been badged 4 Series/M4

So I'm guessing with the new 1 Series BMW are going to split the 1 Series and 1 Series Coupe and and badge the 1 Coupe 2 Series.

And then let's see what happens with the 3 Series due in 2012 and whether 4 Series makes an appearance

How is it ''saturating the brand''?

BMW are just seperating the 1 Series and 1 Series Coupe into 1 Series and 2 Series.. Like it should have always been..

Just like they should seperate the 3 Series and 3 Series Coupe/Cab into 3 Series and 4 Series

but i know for damn sure i will always love my m3 and know that bmw just does this so we can have bigger and better m cars. but even the m brand has become distrubingly strung about.

I wish I didn't even own a BMW right now. This is a disgrace, the brand is becoming so watered down that nothing has meaning anymore. The M badge is no longer a point of pride.

Time for me to buy a Cayman. Though even Porsche has been diluting their brand a bit in the last few years.

Diluting by drops... not by buckets like BMW though.
