If so, what did you do about the alternator cooling air feed? The oil lines push right into the air feed pathway. I can try to notch into the cooling feed but I'm not sure I'll be able to hook up the cooling tube if I do that. Thoughts?
Thanks! Joe ![]()

You can notch it and still hook up your alternator duct.

I do.
And I have no alternator cooling. BMW did away with it on the 3.2’s. On the 3.0 the alternator cooling is fed through the left brakeduct channel.

Euro or US/North American? Both my US 3.2L have the alternator cooling feed. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I haven’t seen anything why this would not fit the 3.2.

You don’t need a new alternator.
Just remove the cooling duct. I haven’t had all different alternators in my hand, so can’t tell if all duct fit all alternators. But they can’t be that different.

I see. So you just leave it open like I show in the picture?
I believe there is an alternator with a closed plastic case (just vented) but I cannot figure out the part number. Anyway, no problem sucking in road junk through that big opening? Thanks!
