Any wheel that looks bad on red m3 will look bad in any color m3. But if we’re talking which color wheels, I’d stick with the standard silver, black, or gunmetal. Or factory wheels with the original chrome grills.

Loud colored wheels mixed with a loud colored car just clashes too much, looks childish on the road. Those gold wheels are an eye sore to me with the red. An exotic can pull it off, but not an old sedan based car with soft body lines like an e46 imo.

Surprised no one mentioned oem 219m wheels! They look perfect on the e46 platform especially imola; spacerless fitment, bbs design / made in germany, relatively inexpensive (vs te37ís), and looks dead sexy!

I've worked my way through a few sets over the years....

Put RG-Rs on the day I got the car (though obviously these pics weren't taken then):

Had to replace the RG-Rs because they couldn't clear the BBK without spacers. Ordered the RG4s, but had to run something in the interim, so I ran Dinans. No good pics of them as I hated them... didn't really take any pics of the car for 4 months

Finally the RG4s came and all was good again

I ran OE18s for snows

and was running 4 rear OE18s powdercoated semi time attack style for track wheels for a period

but then got RS110s, which are now my track wheels.

Then got new wheels. RAC RG63s in hyper black

But wasn't pleased with the initial color, so I got a second set in anthracite, which I don't have any plans to move on from (at least until cost effective CF wheels become a reality... if I could reduce their weight by half, it might become time to move on). Needless to say, this is my favorite set of wheels I've had on the car. The RAC anthracite is a good match to a dark theme imola IMO, they're stupidly strong, clear the brakes, and pretty lights (18 front, 19 rear).

^M5 wheels have since been refinished in the stock wheel color
