Default Re: Exhaust input/poll - AP v SGT

My SCZA was very loud without cats and and factory US section 1. After adding in euro section 1 it is now the perfect volume for the street.

Going to swap back to catless for some more fun on the track this year though.

How raspy is the SCZA muffler with no cats and factory section 1? Hard to tell from videos. Did the tone change a lot when you added cats? It sounds like it does in videos.

And this isn't my daily driver so I don't think I'll mind it being somewhat loud.

Was there a lot of rasp without cats? It strikes me as a muffler that isn't very raspy.

Very raspy without cats. And I know some people say it doesn't drone without cats but mine did. It wasn't horrible but just too much for me for a DD. If you threw a resonated section 1 in or a couple AR20s it would probably be perfect.

Since its relatively easy to add cats after the fact Id start out without them and add later if it's too loud or raspy.

Does it sound pretty much like the second video I posted on the first page? That guy had a thread earlier this month saying how it wasn't raspy at all except in the 2-3k range and he had a very similar setup.

Yes very similar. Opinions on rasp can be pretty subjective but I would agree that it was primarily in the 2-3.5k range. Although it was too loud it still had a great tone to it.

I'm running SCZA, euro headers and had US sections 1 & 2 (catless). With 4.10 gears was just too much - glorious on the track, annoying rasp at 80 on the highway. I welded in one AR20 in parallel with factory resonator and I think that's the solution. Today was first drive, shakedown run after new suspension install - so took it easy but even below 5K, noticeably better - no rasp.

I'd love to hear what it sounds like. Any videos before or after you added the ar20?

I have a short clip after I fired it up yesterday with the AR20, I'll try to figure out how to upload.

I love my SGT Scorza exhaust. The tone is awesome, I have no need to look further! This exhaust is definitely worth the wait, it sounds way better in person than any of the videos.
