Default Climate control randomly restarting

I've noticed a very strange issue with my climate control. Maybe once per drive, I notice the climate control turns off for just a second, then comes back on. The display turns off and the blower slows down for the second or so it is off.

I can't seem to isolate when it happens; it has happened when parked and at highway speed, with the a/c on and the a/c off, when the engine is warm and cold, and doesn't seem to correlate with bumps or blower speed.

I am familiar with the common blower resistor issue, but these symptoms seem different because the blower seems to work fine; it's the whole unit that shuts off. Any ideas?

When you say it turns off, are you saying the fan speed drops suddenly and then goes back to normal?

If so, sounds like you need to recharge your refrigerant.

The whole climate control goes dark and the fan cuts out. The LCD screen cuts out, then back on.

If it were refrigerant, wouldn't it only happen with the A/C on?

That's clearly just bad info. Find someone that will swap their control unit and see if that fixes the issue.

The actual control turns off? Not sure then, mine was just the fan itself.

Yeah, that's what I was afraid of. Maybe I'll just let the problem "develop" a little.
