Default Heated seat pad swap possible?

Basically I found some new seats that I like. They are perfect except they do not have heated seats. How hard is it to take the pads out of my current seats and transfer it into the new seats. Haven't found any good DIYs...

Thanks

E46 heating elements are stitched into the leather skins. You'd probably be better off getting new ones ($150-200 per seat). I think the E39 M5 ones are PnP and just lay flat between the foam and leather...

Don't forget you'll also need new hog rings and cutters/pliers for BOTH sets to reassemble.

Not at all an easy/clean project. I harvested pads for my nogaros, and it was... pretty destructive.
