That's the non-M switch, won't work.

You need 61319122700

Seeing the bellhousing threaded vs machined for a circlip got me thinking the bellhousing could turn into a diy project. I know a hole still has to be drilled out but I think thatís very doable with a drill press and tap.

As a side note the smg has to go up in value as more and more people do the swap. Itís really not a bad transmission

i work for an aerosapce company. it is a very easy way to do it, IMO. you just need to center the holes well.

SMG isnt bad at all, only did the conversions since my unit cannot be adapted via INPA

You really think enough people are doing this that good SMG cars will start to become rare?? I feel like this forum represents only a small microcosm of E46 M3 owners, no?

Itís admittedly a long shot but with this becoming easier and more garage friendly I would think the swaps will become more common. I think the smg trans represents a historical change in motor sports. That said bmwís arenít Porscheís so the value likely isnít there.

Swap it, drive it, love it

Just a little sanity check here for my swap.
I have a ZCP; and donít need cruise control. This means that I donít have to bother with pin 2 on the clutch switch and I have nothing to wire to the DME?

I would still wire it. DME makes some calculations based in clutch status even if youíre not using cruise. A real manual ZCP would still have that wiring in place

“Drives fine” and drives properly are two different things. I’ve driven with that sensor disconnected enough to know that there are subtle driveability differences. ZCP is not special in that regard. It should take all of 10 seconds to wire it. I don’t get the desire to avoid that.
