<-- read the books.

The first episode was ok. They had to introduce a lot of characters so the pacing sucked.

The second episode was much better.

Having read the books helps. There are so many characters in play, and they don't really have time to cover all the back story.

This...

I found myself saying "wait, who is this now" and then 10 seconds later it was somewhat revealed exactly who the character was...

2 episodes in and I've immediately built an incredible distaste for what you'd consider the "villains" and some of the characters on the "good" side are somewhat annoying...

The show is just brutal... Don't grow attached to anything or any character, cause chances are, they're gonna die... They just kill, with zero remorse... I typically like when there is a good amount of violence, as it keeps things interesting and adds excitement, but with this show, I've found some of the violence a little disturbing, which takes a lot for someone like me...

All in all, it has definitely caught my interests. I will continue to watch but almost wish I could fast forward to the later episodes. I feel like I might get a little bored waiting for the heavy foreshadowing they've provided in the first 2 episodes...

Character development is one of the strongest aspects of the series. There are very few "meh" characters to feel indifferent about. You either love or hate a character, and even that can change.

Just watched the first one last night, definitely enjoying it so far.

Hard to not like Sean Bean though, despite the fact that his characters never get what they want.
