I need your help. How do I objectively measure harmonic frequencies in the engine? I have a mechanics stethoscope I i'll be able to hear initially if there's a difference.

Sounds great. Looking forward to your review and thank you.

When do people feel the need to upgrade the damper?

Most people just replace the stock unit after 100kish. If your driving the car hard maybe every 70k and if itís a serious track car every season.

The only upgrade option thatís been available was the VAC/ATI damper but itís $1200ish. The advantage of upgrading the damper is it reduces the harmonics of the long crank and theoretically help the engine live longer closer or above the stock 8k redline.

The appeal of the Ross unit to me is that that itís roughly the same cost as the stock unit and built more robustly as a Motorsport damper. I believe the Ross unit is balanced to 10k so it should be a no brainer upgrade for people wanting/needing to change out the oem damper

Would a before and after dyno show a change based on harmonics? I can maybe get a baseline pull Friday before putting this on Saturday.

If thereís another way of objectively measuring a change let me know.
