Some updated ideas on how to get the knob alignment matched up with the OEM version. The shaft has a notch on the top that sits at an angle. The press fit piece could by keyed to align the logo as well as knob to shaft. I'm looking at picking up an entire assembly that includes the trim. That way we can develop a gator ring later on.

Hi All,

Sorry for the delayed update. Below are images of the first test run of the aluminum shift knob. There is some light tooling marks on the undercut portions of the knob. This will be hard to avoid, but I actually like the look. The logo is laser etched. I believe the end product will have a hard anodizing on it to help with scuffing. I'm planning on keeping it "clear" so it will still have a metal look.

This is cool. Any chance you could do other colors for the finish? Thinking black anodized with the laser engraving revealing the metal. I guess that's if the engraving happens after anodizing, I have no idea...

Nice!

2cents - it feels like it would really benefit from matching steering wheel paddles and dome bezel to integrate the look.

Love the look of it! Also love the last rendering that you did with the little pads in there.
