Hey All,

Thanks for the feedback. Loving the idea about adding alcantara to the design. I'll have to noodle on that one. I think the larger knob is definitely the way to go. I'm going to meet with the company this week to discuss the design and manufacturing. I'm sure there are going to be some elements that have to be modified in order to machine it. I'll bring up the pads/alcantara and see what they think.

I also had an idea about making the top etched logo area out of another metal or material. It may look cool to have it as a press fit anodized color or brass, etc...I'm also like the black color of the 3D print.

More images of the tall version:

I've found that my hands fit where the undercuts are, but I guess everyone may hold their knob differently Sorry for the dry and wrinkly hands.

Have you given any thought to just selling the 3D printed plastic version? I'd be into it depending on price of course.

I don't have the ability to print a large number of them. It would be easier if I shared the file and let people print their own. There's plenty of online 3D printers, albeit they can be expensive.

For me the knob is an ornament. I use my storm motorwerks paddles almost exclusively for shifting. Which is my way of saying this is about how it looks and not so much how it feels although that will undoubtedly matter more to others.
