SoCal owner here and never have had my Storm stuff get got. I park in the shade and if I canít, I have a sun visor, which is more for the leather seats and my comfort than the knob, but clearly it works.

The original intent for the storm was because the damn OE ones kept bubbling. Iíve gone through 3 of them now. After the 3rd one at $100 I looked for a better solution...

Hereís the full storm line up in titanium brush which is a nice touch. Excuse the dirty car and old wrap.

And old faithful which is now desk art.. (not for sale)

I wish storm would do a V4 SMG shift knob. I like it a little better than the V3 one.

I'd be interested in one in the original size in some sort of black finish (Delrin?) with a more rounded top - like the original knob.

I will echo what others have said:

The metal gets WAY too hot on the Storm. Like burns your hand hot.

And the ability to have alcantara inserts more like stock would be a huge selling point, I think.

Having a matte or soft touch finish option would be excellent, I think. I used to regularly plasti-dip mine in Anthracite, but it'd wear off pretty quickly. (I do love that exact color though, for the knob, ring, and paddles, as a nice accent to my white SMG dome with the titanium window switch plate. It all flows very nicely.) Speaking of wear, the Storm titanium finish eventually wears off. Mine only took about a year before it started looking sort of bubbly/scratched, but it wasn't damaged.

One thing I'd add is this: the stock knob is too light. But I'd say the Storm knob is just a tad too heavy. It's easy to bump it to the right and have it bounce off the side and come back. I don't know their exact weights, but I'd say the sweet spot might be a 20-25% reduction in the difference between them.

I would also add the ring too. The cheap plastic chrome one won't match and will be sorely outclassed by your knob. I like the look, feel, and flatness of the Storm a lot; something like that that uniquely matches your knob would be a great idea.

I had asked earlier last year about that, and sadly Bilal isnít focusing on storm any longer (Storm = Eventuri)

Iím more surprised that many of you donít use the BMW sun visor. Never had the hot knob issues on the storm, however I can certainly see it being an issue. That said, the solution for that is a very simple one that also protects the rest of the interior.
