I'm hesitant to give an exact date right now because I've had to keep pushing it back for a multitude of reasons (Sorry, everyone!)

Here are the time tables I'm hoping to stick to:

1 Week: Complete the Rev C layout & send it off to the fab house

+ 1 Week: Build and send out test modules to the beta users after validating the design myself

+ 2 Weeks: Ensure no hardware bugs & begin taking actual orders from pre-order users

+3 - 4 weeks: Production manufacturing and assembly

I currently have about 250 pre-orders, so I will be hiring someone to do the final assembly and testing, since I have a full time job to attend to. I expect to ship at least 100 units per week once they all come in.

Sorry if you've answered this already. I know you changed things a bit to use the OEM BMW mic. Does this hook up to and use the OEM Bluetooth antenna module that sits in the back of the between seats console?

Nope, I'm not using a BT module which supports an external antenna. In our testing, it seems the only time there is a signal issue is when you have the phone in your back pocket while driving, and that's uncomfortable anyways.

Thanks!

Thanks!

I initially did but deleted it to post a lengthy post and then got side track at work.

For the people on the pre-order list, you will not be disappointed.

For starters sound quality is better than anything on the market for our platform.

What is the music bitrate when you stream over bluetooth? Also is the circuit of DAC proprietary or it is more like a one from TI datasheet? Thank you and again great job you've done!

The module defaults to AAC for streaming as it has better frequency response than SBC. It achieves a max bit rate of about 250 kbps.

The DAC implementation matches pretty well with the TI datasheet. The project is open source, so you can actually see the implementation here on page 2: https://cadlab.io/project/1479/maste...ZUJ1cy5zY2g%3D

The PCB layout is also available there.

The circuit has changed a bit since this commit, as I have removed the TS5A22364 switch and moved to the PCM5122 DAC, rather than the PCM5102. The only difference is that there is software control via SPI/I2C, so I can fiddle with the registers of the DAC to achieve the best setup with the greatest control.

Well now that I've read through more updates I can't wait. Please tell me it'll be here soon!!!

Side note: Not 100% sure if I already signed up for a preorder. is it okay if I simply submit another order?
