Default Tired of SMG issues In LA heat!

Does anyone know of any reputable shops in Los angeles area that do smg trans to manual trans swaps?
Everytime there is a heat wave in Los Angeles I get nervous driving in the day time due to smg overheating yellow cog issues.Getting stuck in traffic is unavoidable. Any info much appreciated

Have you checked these 3 links and consider repairing it for a fraction of the cost of a swap depending on the issue? Many people have successfully fixed their SMG heat problems in these 3 threads.

Kevin does, he is down in San Diego area. He’s done several SMG swaps. His username is Kaiv.

You can relocate your SMG pump, seems to work for everyone who has done it. PM me if you would like to purchase a relocation kit.

Take the trip down to SD. Have Kaiv do it right the first time.

If you like SMG do the pump relocation kit plus replace the motor with burkhart one and you should be good to go. If not then of course the other option is a 6MT swap. Can’t go wrong either way in my book. Good luck.

I dont think replacing the motor is needed. I think only one person had to replace their motor after relocating the pump. If you were to relocate the pump and you still need to replace the motor, it's a 5 minute job.

Anyone In Socal know of a reputable shop that knows how to fix E46 M3 SMG's or knows what to fix with SMG symptoms present? I don't want to take car to dealer because I know with the age of this car, they are just gonna start replacing parts at my expense hoping it fixes my issues.
