Ill try and get my hands on the car and spend some time with the SMG. I recently purchased my first E46 M and have been wrenching on it quite a bit. It occured to me that I'm putting alot of blood and sweat into a car that has alot of miles and probably will never get as nice as I would like it to be. From what I'm told my uncles car is pretty much showroom condition. Maybe my wife will love it so much Ill get to keep both.

I very much doubt 6mt converting it would hurt the value at all. If anything, it should boost it. MAYBE if it was a non supercharged coupe, but the verts aren't really appreciating, 2002 isn't a desirable year, and a supercharger is already one of the most invasive mods you can do.

I agree that driving it for a while to make sure you can't like SMG before converting makes sense....

... but I'd swap it asap.
