Decided that the original 3 spoke wheel was looking a little frumpy and wanted to update to the euro version (w/airbag). Pretty happy with the results. Doesn't it just make you wanna get in and drive?

Both wheels look good but I think the airbag looks way better on the euro one, the plastics seem to hold up better too. Looks great!

It’s a shame that wheel is larger in diameter, and feels as such. Good looking wheel, just not nice to drive with.

Yah, the wheel is 10 mm larger in diameter plus the leather wrap is a tad thicker. Honestly, I like the feel of the slightly thicker rim in the hands.
As far as not being as nice to drive with - it was the aesthetics I was trying to improve. If I was worried about 'how it drove' I guess I wouldn't have bought a 'vert in the first place. :^) Last edited by ///Minivan; Thu, Aug-24-2017 at 03:02:07 AM. |

I went the other way way back in 2007 in my 328i. The "sport steering wheel" (option 255) as it's called, I loved it. But I wanted the M wheel.
After doing the swap, I liked it even more. As Brad is saying, it's smaller and even at just 10mm, feels like much more and makes the steering a bit more weighted. Plus the M wheel has the thumb rests and nicer tri-color stitching.

I'm referring to the 2 wheels in your pics.

I have the same wheel, they look great but are too big for the car imo. I have a renown wheel on the way

I'll take your old wheel off your hands.

What confuses me is that you mentioned that one has the thumb rests and M-tri color stitching. In my pics, both wheels have those features.

Sorry but it's staying with me in case I want to return to stock in the future. Was always the plan since this is literally 1 of 3 minor things not stock on the car (BavSound speaker internals and front shock tower brace). |
