Default Camerons '97 Boston Green Build Thread

Hello!

Since I've started to modify my M3, I thought I'd start a build thread.

Here's how the car started out when i bought it, in February 2017, for $6.8k. I bought it as a daily driver, and my miata was to be my dedicated track/autox car, because it was getting a little annoying to drive every day. The BMW had just 103k miles when I bought it and is in a pretty good condition, especially having been in alaska for a few years.

(Thats my winter wheel/tire/suspension setup on the miata btw )

After a wash and some clear corners:

The interior was in a great condition. The previous owner added a rewrapped oem steering wheel, a zhp shift knob, a dinan intake, and a euro radio unit. Everything else was stock.

It wasn't too long before I started to modify it though. The car had been sitting for a couple years, so the first thing I did was replaced the battery, flushed all the fluids, replaced the valve cover gasket and grommets, replaced the spark plugs, and put on pilot super sports.

The sunroof worked for about a week, before all the plastic internals cracked into a million pieces. That was super frustrating to fix. While I was at it I re-dyed the rear deck, it was sun bleached purple.

After that I replaced the rotors and got Hawk HPS pads all around.

Heres how she looked after a wash, clay bar and wax:

And finally, I got to the fun stuff.

- New OEM clutch, SS pivot pin, bearings, etc.
- Bimmerworld SS clutch line (CDV Deleted)
- UUC SSK with DSSR
- New SS brake lines from garagistic
- New Poly transmission mounts from garagistic
- Bimmerworld y pipe and race exhaust w/ resonator
- Clear tail lights

All this got done yesterday. It feels like a totally different car already but theres a long way to go

On my todo list:

- coilovers, camber plates, refreshed suspension bushings, reinforcement plates, etc.
- wheels - not sure yet. Leaning towards the concave 17x9 and 17x9.5 arc-8's in hyper black. Or i might just get a rear set of DSII's and put them in the front for a square setup, and add some spacers.
- coolant system refresh - I'll be adding an aluminum radiator and expansion tank, converting to electric fans, stewart pump, etc.
- z3 steering rack swap
- stealth undertray - old one was drooping and scraping, so i took it off
- new windshield
- new window seals
- paint correction + body repair on the dent right above the driver side headlight. A rock hit it and made a dent on the very front of the hood and the windshield.
- HID's + glass headlight housing.

After I get all this done I'll start thinking about forced induction
