Default Best wheel size combo for 2008 e90

So, I finally found the wheels I want to buy. After looking for days and probably hundreds of pictures of black m3s with different wheels… I think I have decided on Forgestar f14 super deep concave textured gunmetal… But, it looks like they have to be special ordered so I want to make sure I get the right size. I know I want 19s, but I was leaning towards 9” in the front and 10” in the back.

Just looking for feedback really. Does that sizing seem reasonable? I currently have Michelin Super Sport 245/35/19 in front and 265/35/19 in back, and I like the tires good enough - don’t plan on changing the brand/type when I need new tires and I checked the specs on them and the 9s in front and 10s in back for wheels were fine. But, I am open to suggestions for tires as well.

I also ordered H&R sport springs to lower my suspension since I am getting some dope new wheels, but that is just supplemental info. Really looking for opinions on wheel sizes and possibly tires brands/sizes. Springs were cheap, but the wheels are not - so i want to make sure I have thought this through before ordering.

Thank you!!

Mary

The ZCP models run 19x9/10 with 245/265 tires. Just get the offsets right for the look and tire width you want.

I run Apex ARC8s in 18x9.5/10.5 and have run 265/285 And 265/295 tires. I have an E90 with H&R springs. The 295/30/18s are the most that will fit with the offset I have (25?) and the Conti EC Sports that I run now are narrower for their size than some other tires.

Thanks! That is interesting to know the ZCPs have that wheel/tire size combo, I had no idea. Is there any sort of performance difference with the different wheel size combos, or is it mostly just an aesthetic thing? Like, having the 9.5x10.5 instead of the 9x10, or even something like 9X9 or 10x10?

I originally wanted the Apex ARC8 wheels. Then I found HRE FF01s, and finally decided on the Forgestar F14. But, since I have to special order them I might go with the S18s... Omg, I have put WAY too much thought into this lol

Best wheel and tire combo for most people is stock. For performance, first recommendation is better tires in stock size. 2nd is better tires one size larger. 3rd is lighter wheels. 4th is lighter and wider wheels. I am into performance not looks. While performance often looks better, looks often do not perform better than stock. You will see people buying heavy wheels that look good or putting cheap tires on good looking wheels or stretching tires for example.

I fully agree with this post

On my E92 M I have the 19" ZCP wheels which are 9 front and 10 rear. They are heavy, but they're OEM and I looooove how they look

On the E90 I have the Bimmerworld full forged wheels in 18", 10.5" all around but that car isn't driven on the street

Well, talked to Forgestar today and my wheels aren't even available in 9", so I am kinda thinking 9.5x10... The F14 super deep concave 19" are only available in 9.5", 10", 11", and 12"

Offsets -

Forgestar F14 super deep concave
19×9.5 offsets from -25 to +23
19×10 offsets from -19 to +30

Factory OEM E9x wheels --- is this correct?
19x9 ET31
19x10 ET25

Will the 9.5x10 wheels even work? Would 10x10 be better? Sorry I have so many questions!! I'll have all my shit together after this go around, next time ordering wheels will be much easier lol. And, thank you so very much for helping

For the record - I went with the Apex ARC 8 Anthracite 19x9.5 in front 19x10.5 in back.
