Maybe that was pre sand beige. I thought it was a 99 color only but could be wrong.

That's correct according to BMW M Registry:

Modena is a solid color. Magma is a marbled color exactly like Mulberry. The two colors are very different (magma and modena).

Technically, BMW never called it dove grey. Even in e36s. So everyone is wrong for calling it dove grey.

BTW, I've called it dove grey and still do to this day. Screw it.

I'm aware "Dove Gray" was never an official name, just didn't know the E46 guys started using it too. Must have been E36 guys that moved on
