11+ in. wheels are useless on a track unless the front wheels are within 1.5 inches. Now on a strip, its a different story, but I can get 15x15 rear rims for a few hundred bucks and skinny's for another couple hundred. Now thats a drag setup.

Either way, the setup I am running are the Enkie RPF1's

Front 19x8.5 @ 19lbs
Rear 19x10 @ 21 lbs

These wheels are larger and wider than stock 18's and weight on average 6lbs less. I also run -3.5 degrees camber up front and -2 in the rear daily.

Those setups jump to -4.5 to -5 up front and -2.5 to -3 in the rear for tracks.
Realize? Haha. That's exactly what I am looking for. That's why I am disappointed with this thread so far. I think you are preaching to the choir.

So far, in this thread, I haven't seen anything wider in the front than what I run on the E36. My E36 is ~2900 last time I weighed it, the E46 being heavier, I am surprised to see nobody has posted square setups using 265, 275, and 285's all around. I guess this is what comes to mind when somebody says "steamroller setup".

I'm thinking more of road course setups rather than AX and drag racing doesn't do much for me.

I'm waiting for the black SSR Comp RS(?) to get back in stock at Tire Rack myself. I think a 275 all around on 18x9.5's should be sufficient to play around on. The Volk's are nice but I can't find them in a square set up.

-5 degrees in the front? When I was still with MPACT and we were running our E46 in USTCC (IE: John Holder's new car) -5 degrees in the front was a little too much. I guess it was the 225 series' tire we had to run...

I'm running -3f/-1.8r on the E36. I'll probably be close to that on the E46 but I have just begun to play with it so who knows. Any more camber up front and the street tires don't really have enough grip to use it. I'm using RE050A PP's right now. Do your tires utilize that much camber in the front? What tires are you running?

What have you guys found to be the widest tire you can safely fit up front? Will a 295 street tire go under there with a little camber? Can you fit a 280 slick?

Here are a couple pics more along the lines of what I was hoping to see. Somebody post up!
