I can't believe how cheap these trunks are now. I think I have about $2k or so in mine.

Mr. Wolfe

Crazy right, I was looking up old threads yesterday from like 2005 and was reading the same thing, everyone was suggesting the Vorsteiner replica trunks because they were around $1.3-1.5k and if you wanted an oem one it would be $2k+....

And just to I update, I got an email back from *vibrating*tables* about the oem trunk lid with all the little extras for 1300 shipped. Gonna send the payment through today, should ship out next Tuesday he said and get to me about a week later.

And btw I was gonna ask about the previous comment someone made about how all oem trunks need a little adjusting per car....can anyone explain what kind of "adjusting" that includes? To fit this trunk perfectly would I have to shave/trim some stuff/cut any panels/or is it just the way you bolt it on?

It should fit perfectly. Any small adjustments can be made with the hinge adjustments and a wrench.

No panel, OEM or not is a one shot fit. Every single panel on your car has vague mounting holes for discrepencies that come from building a car. You adjust the panel to fit around your desired preference.

This is referring to bolting it on for OEM parts.

All adjustments are made in the mointing location. It's fairly simple

I just installed mine. No cutting.. adjusting trunk hinge brackets and trunk lock striker(?) are involved.

OE all the way. SGT SCZA is the only rep I'd even consider, but after seeing a friend's SCZA require some adequate bodywork, OE is the only one my car will ever see personally.

This seems to be a reoccurring trend. Such a shame considering I love the CF exposed lip look. OE all the way. The strip is not worth the trade-offs that come with the reps.

Just a little update...

...got the trunk in the mail today!

Pics of the box..:

sorry no pics of the actual trunk, but it looked exactly like the pics in the ad.

Just got it today around 4pm, already dropped it off at the body shop, should be blended in and ready to go on Friday. Will update with pics of the car when everything is installed!
