Default Re: Replacing OEM Navi & HK Speakers with Aftermarket

Going to piggy back on this since I'm on a similar situation. The Navi unit on my 04 coupe is fried (was like that when I got the car).

I think I found a double din that will fit without cutting the heater box. The Alpine iLX-007 is only 3" deep since it doesn't have a cd player and since I am a Apple nut, it fits all my wants and needs.

I'm a bit confused on te wiring harness though. All the harness adapter I see being offered are big squared plugs. The navi unit has 2 small plugs. Is there a different adapter I need? What is a good source for this adapters?

I seen a lot of double din mounting adapter but not sure which one to get. Any recommendations?

How about steering controls?

Going to replace the all speakers but not sure what size to get. Would like to get 6.5" but not sure on what limitations I have for depth for the front doors. Planning on running all speaker of stereo power and removing all the HK amps.

You need the 5 Meter Fakra harness. Currently the radio is in the trunk and the Nav screen is just a monitor. You route this from the trunk to the nav screen location.

Did you buy this? Pics installed? Which bezel did you choose?
