Oh yeah, I do this every day pulling into work. That sound with the windows down in a parking garage is pure ecstacy.

Actually, your guess is VERY close to the truth. I had an Acura MDX before with a Kicker Stillwater speaker box in the back with two 10-inch subs and some nice full-range horn speakers. It had plenty of punch, even MORE than my wife's 335i !

I have heard the logic 7 in the 335 and though it sounds very good, I think the enhanced audio in the M3 sounds even better. Perhaps I just have my settings perfect to my tastes (lots of bass and crisp highs).

Lil John has a lot of low end flat lined bass, Lil Wayne has high hard hitting bass pops

+1 (except that my home stuff is Levinson/Audio Research/Vandersteen 5A). The M3 enhanced audio system is quite nice with CDs. Less so with iPod, but the iPod ain't exactly audiophile

juan, do you hang out at Audio Asylum too?

Most people in a blind test will prefer bass or treble boosted sound over flat response. There is no such thing as degradation by passing through software unless the designer meant to do it or is incompetent.
