Default Re: Best place to buy a Euro bumper?

Weird! That is what I gave him and he said it returned a support beam behind the bumper.
I will get to the bottom of this. He said he found the Euro bumper cover, but under a diff PN apparently (I didn't ask for it, but I can).
Thanks for looking that up -

That's weird. Check this post out. Seems he got it from the same place you are and the PN I gave you. http://www.m3forum.net/m3forum/showp...36&postcount=1

My guy wasn't sure if the order was going to process so we tried it and it worked. Sucks you have to pay in advance. I just payed when it came in and made sure it was actually the euro.

^ Very weird! I will definitely confirm Monday AM. And will somehow condition it on receipt of the proper product, identified by description and not just the PN. Thanks again

Dang, so now Tony isn't sure about ordering the Euro bumper. He says this his system shows everything with reflectors. I understand that the systems all show that, but we have no way to confirm we are actually getting Euro bumpers delivered. Because the PN 51117894989 comes up as the bumper support (foam/kevlar stuff) and not a bumper cover. Since we have to pay first, that's not a risk I am willing to take. Any ideas on how to confirm this stuff?

Looks like that PN brings up the bumper cover on GetBMWParts, ECSTuning, and TheBMWPartsStore. But Pelican and RealOEM are less clear (it may be the support behind, or only works for car up to 11/01).

That's pretty weird that it comes up in the system differently. Any way they can order one without paying up front? That's what my dealer does with all orders.

I asked again and they said no dice. Which is lame.

Looks like we've found some alternatives for $1000 shipped for a pair, tax-free. So $60 more per person. Just seems weird that this dealer cannot source it. $440 after tax picked up would be greattttt.

I'd say you need somebody from Europe to confirm - or maybe a European vin to try in realoem as a secondary check.

^ Good thinking.

I also read something on here through a search about US dealers no longer ordering European parts, starting around early 2012. Sounds like bogus, anybody have any info on that?
