I drove it like I stole right out the gate!!! No, seriously though, I did drive it across the entire rev range in the first 1200 hundred miles. Meaning I have taken it to redline, but at the same time, I didn't rag on it and for the most part adhered to the break-in period, I know, kinda of an oxymoron. Its important to let the engine rev on inertia and vacuum(downshift reving with no throttle) so that the bearings have and even wear pattern. Iam sure there is a term more specific for that break-in application. Anyhow, I have 16k on the clock and absolutely no oil consumption on 7500 mile oil change intervals.. Maybe an ounce or 2...

I got my car with 27k. It's an 03 and was totally cared for, but I am not 100% certain it was broken in exactly per procedure. BUT---I have not noticed any oil consumption since my last change about 5k miles ago and it runs great.
