Default FIXED: SES/SMG light randomly

Not sure what happened, about 2 blocks away from work my car threw the cog light (the orange gear), but didn't throw me out of gear or anything. I came inside dropped my stuff off and tried to start my car again (I left my shifter to the right in gear) and when I tried to put the car in neutral, it wouldn't let me. I took the key out of the ignition and pushing the shifter in gear and back in neutral and it finally went into neutral. Put it in reverse and it took a couple seconds. When I looked down the SES code came up as well. Not sure what to make of it. I just put on new headers, engine mount, fuel filter, tranny mount couple days ago, but I don't think that has anything to do with it. Gonna try to pull the code later today to see. I also have a salmon relay on hand so gonna try to go from there. If anyone has insight on what it could be though let me know! Starting to think more about doing a 6spd conversion more and more.

read the codes and see. there is always a reason why the COG comes on.

That one day you get stranded because of the SMG is the day you'd be kicking yourself for not converting sooner.

Pulled the code and got "38: SMG:ON period, hydraulic unit" decided to pop the salmon relay on there. Made the lights go away thanks for the input everyone!
