LPT: If you're going to a pull-your-own-part yard take a drill and some bits; the shocks are riveted to the mounting plate.

Bumper shocks are held down by 4 bolts.

Actually, I think it's three bolts. The little holes in the corners were riveted on the two I went to pull from - both E46 3 series - looks like number 6 on your diagram. I ended up snipping away at the back sides with a pair of dikes then prying apart with a flathead.

Trying to get my work caught for the week so I can spend Friday finishing up my bumper install with CSL integration. I now have all of the parts I need. I will update this thread when finished.

Hey guys, having a small issue. Antony is helping me resolve it, but would like to ask on here as well. It seems my e46 bumper shocks are sticking out too far at least 1/2". Whenever I install the ASA bolts, I have to have the bumper pulled away from the car 1/2-1" for them to thread. At that point, the bumper is so far forward compared to the fenders. Does anyone know why this would happen or know of a way to fix it?

My last resort will be to drill the shocks, push them in to the desired length and then drill a set screw.

Antony has had no complaints about this so I am putting no blame on him. Just not sure WTH is happening. I line up the bumper perfectly and then have to pull it away from the car to thread the ASA bolts - both sides.
