Valve adjustments aren't this magical thing that apparently only a handful of people can do , lol. It's just blown out of proportions by forums. It's a very simple procedure. Why do you think so many non-Technicians decide to do it on the side?

We are working on an E46 right now that was just purchased. 129k miles on the clock. Exhaust Hub is perfect and the Cam bolts were perfect too...the bolts being perfect surprised me. Only thing broken was the Chain tensioner guide.

We are doing the Valve adjustment tomorrow on the car.

Guys,
I had Ray and his crew work on my new-to-me Sterling Gray M3 several weeks ago.
I bought a second M3 and wanted to transfer all the mods from my sliver gray to the new car and also address all the pitfalls of the M3 while in the process.
I called all the local known names to get quotes - AA, Eurowerks, Miami Performance Inc to name a few.
The quotes I received were out of this world (I wanted to move headers from one car to another among other things).
Luckily, Ray spotted me asking about labor charges to swap headers in another thread and PM'd me.
At the end of the day I ended doing a lot more than I initially planned and paying less than I was quoted by other shops.
Ray was very diligent in his work and very accommodating and generous with the time spent on my car and on the lift.
During the entire process Ray was in constant touch with me, sending pictures and updates on progress.
I am very pleased with the final result, and my 2006 silver gray M3 (which is for sale in the cars for sale section) feels better than ever after he worked his magic on it.

below are some photos from the subframe reinforcement process
