I had an E39 M5 and with the stock headers, Rogue X-Pipe (2 small bottleneck resonators), and Dinan mufflers (literally, hollow mufflers), it sounded mild. Aggressive when you need it to be, but still, very mild in the overall sense.

With that said, I bet you could get away with just two resonators or small mufflers.
That's what I've seen from youtube videos. The plan as of now is to just run a 3" center section from the headers to a standard M3 muffler. That will keep the "stock" look we are going for. Side pipes WILL happen but that will be later on when this things goes bradtarded as some people like to say.

If I didn't have to keep up with 500 KOTRT messages a day I would have more time to finish.

Also, not sure how far into the S62 research you have gotten, but a few popular items to consider are Evolve Alpha-N Tune. The stock MAF's tend to bite the bullet and aren't cheap to replace. I also had issues with my VANOS circuit board solders losing connection and had to resolder them.

Evolve Alpha N has been on the list since the beginning. They've done some great stuff with the S62 so that choice was a no brainier. The vanos was completely rebuilt with all new beisen seals and had everything rebuilt including the circuit boards. Everything on the engine has been addressed with the exception of the rods and pistons. I wish I had more pics of that part of the process but sadly I didn't take the time to stop and snap pics.

No progress update, haven't had much time lately to work on the car but I have some parts updates.

CAE Ultra shifter. Thanks to Chicane Motorsport. I can't wait to really experience what all the hype is about. Just holding it in my hands and shifting in the car it feels way better than the BimmerWorld and AKG which I have had before. Not to mention how tall the damn thing is. With the gear selection stops and the super stiff centering spring it really does feel almost sequential like.

Stainless line and fittings for the lines from the brake master cylinders to the ABS. Hoping to have the pedals buttoned up soon.

Engine mounts back from powder coating. They look great but I think I'm going to make another set with the actual point it mounts to the subframe moved up. That should make the overall length of the arm shorter and reduce the angle of the cantilever.
