Default CCFL install on stock US headlights

Hey guys so I purchased some CCFLS's halos for the E36. Coming from a long line of facelifted E39s I've missed the halos and I wanted to retrofit them and watched a lot of videos before pulling my headlights. But the videos I watched were from the "Euro headlights with the glass lenses" so I started to cut the slicon with a cutter. I spent an hour but those are still stuck. Then I read how some people stuck it in the oven but there's no information about that. Any help will be appreciated.

Coming from a long line of FL E39’s, I’d expect there are other things you’re missing, not some halo rings that were ‘cool’ on an E36, in 2007.

The only help I can give is: don’t.

The build quality, yes I am missing that a lot. The halos look so good IMO.

They don’t belong on the E36.

Perhaps they would if halos had been integrated into the housing, similar to how they were on face lifted E39s, but aftermarket halos do not look good.

They look like rings glued onto the inner lens housings. It's very obvious they do not belong.

I'm not sure how you didn't find information about baking sealed headlights, it's a trick that people have been doing for half a century. Stick the headlight assembly in the oven for 10-20 minutes at between 200-300F, take the headlights out, and crack the fronts off. If you can't get the fronts off, go longer or higher temperature.

If you are looking I can build you a set if thats something your interested in. I do a hidden angel eye so you don't notice them when off. So you kinda get the best of both worlds.
