Default Big thanks to Forum Member Jest - Diff Seal Install DIY

Peter came out in the rain to help me with my diff seals. First off. I am never paying anyone to do this anymore. It is a lot simpler than I thought. I didn't have to replace my axle shaft but my seals ($25) Also thanks to DasEighty for getting me the parts last minute.

We did the work and got some sushi at U-Yee!

pics:
monkey work

Its coming off!

Axle shaft being removed. inverted special tool (6 of them ) forgot exact size sorry guys. but they are star bolt like the bolts for the exhaust on headers to section 1

Splines look good!

splines and axle shaft out of the diff

had to make the seal go in flush so we tried a rubber mallet. didn't work well but somethign else did which I promised not to say

seal is in!

for giving me a headache and being depressed all week not being able to drive my car

finished!

Then I flushed the diff and we were all set. drove the car and voila. Good to go.

Thanks to Peter(Jest) and his magnificent tools

Glad I was able to help homie. For the torx screws I believe we used my size 12 inverted torx socket.

Just to clarify with the rubber mallet... we needed something about the same diameter as the seal itself but smaller in diameter then the flange the seal would be sitting in. This insures the seal sits in properly and not crooked. Used the rubber mallet and a hammer behind it to tap the new seal in.
