Copy pasting my question from the other thread-

-Make sure you use a High pressure fuel hose to your fuel line. Learned that the hard way last weekend

Q- What is the highest shot i can go up to on stock software? I am currently running a 75 shot but i want to up the shot a little more. What's the SAFEST way i can run 100 shot on stock software and internals?

Great thread

so, who is gonna be the first to run nitrous with VFE stage 1 or 2?
or has this already been done?

i know that there are a few AA folks running conservative nitrous setups.

I don't agree with u about running the car line inside the car is very scary.
If the line buss and u have big nitrous leak what would happened then ?
Special if u have passengers inside the car. Is not a very smart think.

I have nitrous for about 3 year on my M3 never had problem with line under the car. Plus u don't have the bottle always open.
If the line does break......(which is one in a quad trillon chance) it vents in the cabin. There are plenty of people that have left there bottle heater on while the valve was closed and blew the rupture disc off, no big deal. Just a little alarming.

If the hose absorbs heat you will have bigger problems on your hand (like a lean spot). I would also recommend running it in the cabin and under the carpet.

Questions

1.whats the biggest shot you can run on the s54 motor (with all safety inj, plugs etc) (curious/good to know)?
2.Can i put c16 and nos and make more power (race gas) with out a problem ?
3.At what point (HP/shot) do you recommed DP setup over single fogger ?

Things ive learned along the way to make up my mind.(with help from other members)

1.For a 75 to 100 shot you do not need a tune.
For a 125+ shot I would get software from Active Autowerke or other

2. 2 steps colder with s 125 shot (can someone post where to get these makes it easy to find.)

3.NGK DCPR9E are fine gapped at .032 (some say .026) add comment here

4.The proper AFR is 11.0 to 11.5 for a long highway run or 11.5 to 12.0 for a short, off the line run. So, the AFR should not differ depending on the shot level - it should always be in the same range

5.The best approach to get the most out of your nitrous kit - SAFELY - is to either go with stock software or custom tuned software from D/A and keep it at a 75 shot. Think of it like this, stock rwhp is 283. If you add a 75 shot of NOS, you're at 358. Now, with D/A software on a modded car (headers, intake, etc...) rwhp is 300+. On the same modded car with D/A SW and a 75 shot your at 375+. So, it's like having a 100 shot on stock software but much safer. You use the 75 shot with D/A software and it's like a 100 shot but much safer for the engine.

6.You don't necessarily need to jump in 25hp increments. Just up the nitrous/fuel jets a few numbers and test it (keeping an eye on the AFR). For example, a 50 Shot = 35n/19f, 75 Shot = 41n/23f, and 100 Shot = 52n/28f. So, instead of going to the 52n/28f - pick a setting in between like a 46n/26f (note that the ratio between the nitrous and fuel is right at 55&#37. .(example)Oh, and the 55% ratio, that is the difference between the nitrous and fuel jet sizes.

I myself will have questions in the future and i know we have a great deal of nos people on this fourm to help me and others.(nice to ask questions in one place and get answers there).

Helping others look around less for info on nitrous on E46 M3.

info provied by Custom Performance (Jack) fig i share some

2.Can i put c16 and nos and make more power (race gas) with out a problem ? It all depends again, but one can still have a problem on C16 if the system is not designed correctly. C16 will help in detonation at high shots, so that helps in making more power...obviously.

3.At what point (HP/shot) do you recommed DP setup over single fogger ? My 2is anything over 100, unless you have it one a dyno and you are comfortable with results after the dyno

No other s/w company offers nitrous loads.

2. 2 steps colder with s 125 shot (can someone post where to get these makes it easy to find.) If you are going 2 step colder plugs. be prepared to hand out some money unless you go with a jet ski plug.
3.NGK DCPR9E are fine gapped at .032 (some say .026) add comment here The only reason why people gap it to smaller gap is because the fuel wipes out the spark, a lot reasons why but mostly because the coils may not keep up.

I would run a AA gen3 stage2 with a 150-200 shot, gears, fuel cell= perfect S/C M IMO... You would have S/C power for the daily running around and then when you went out to have some fun turn on the nitrous...
