Alrighttttty, then.

(1) Back to OEM NAV knobs. While on the interior, thinking about mixing it up a bit more - replacing the cinnamon boots with alcantra/tri-stitch pieces. Returning to black is safe, but I am wondering if those pieces, by themselves, is enough alcantara to match. The tri-stitch will match the wheel.

(2) AKG accidentally sent me FCABs. So the RTABs are in the mail!

(3) Installed a new front bumper today (credit/rec to: The Shop in Culver City). My Strassentech lip was one with the bumper, so I have to sell them together. I replaced the OEM Euro bumper with.. an OEM Euro bumper (but lost my clear bra!! ) I am happy with the clean OEM+ look now (no reflectors, stealth corners, and hey - extra clearance!).

(4) They also painted my OEM keyhole delete trim. But I am not sure about installing it. I have a BSW woofer box and will have a Dinan bar back there soon. So I won't be able to climb in through the trunk, should I ever need to. If I had stock trunk, I would do this for sure. Looks cleaner, increased security with a stack of pennies epoxied behind, it's cheap ...

(5) Techron'd the car! Have an oil change coming up so I figured it'd be a good time to do it. PepBoys had, IIRC, bottles that treat 12g on sale for $4, or bottles that treat 20g for $10. So I got 2x12g.... Put 1.5 in with a full tank (treat 18g) and will put the other .5 bottles in with the next tank. Prob same shit overall as the 20g bottle but why not save $2 and get ~4g more!

I think the knobs look fine

Keyhole delete: I contemplated doing it on my E46 then at some point my driver side door lock actuator started acting up: At random times the remote would only unlock the passenger side door Potential PITA if I had the delete thing!

Congrats on the new Euro bumper!

^ Kev, you've seen the interior - what do you think about replacing the boots with oem charcoal alcantara with tri-stitch?

Well I think I will do the boots when I do the pillars and headliner in alcantara. Not in the near future, but eventually.

I installed new fog light bulbs tonight.
Installed were Apexcone 55w HID Foglights with 4500K bulbs. Because the 55w tends to wash out the color a little (as if lowering the K), these were a perfect match for the OEM 4300K bulbs.. in color. They were a bit brighter though, which always looked a little "off" to me.
I am planning to install [my closeted] Lightwerkz/Morimoto 5000K bulbs soon along with ZKW-R lenses, and fresh OEM covers.
Because I am picky on the match, I didn't know what to do for the foglights. 5000K fogs would look a little off (brightness and color), and the next jump is 6000K which is way too blue, in match and for me personally. So I bailed on the match and went for 3000K.
Truth is, I don't use my fogs that often. When I do, it's because I think they're going to help. Figured might as well get the best for visibility in those conditions. I think they look okay, albiet borderline r!ce.
If they were a perfect match (bulb color and 35w) then I would probably use them more often (and would ditch the 3000K look).
Headlights are ironic, going to 5000K from peak 4300K. But truth is these are just pure white, not closer to blue 6000K, with difference of 3200 vs 3100 lumens.

Also, I am thinking about uncoding the Euro sidemarkers. Currently corners are off when headlights are on. Thoughts?
Finally, they don't make foglight covers like they do for the headlights, correct?

Of course the bulbs came from Lightwerkz promptly and nicely packaged. Props to Caesar.

Jeez, these have me thinking about keeping 4500K fogs, 4300K projectors, and just adding the ZKW-R lenses.

definitely do the zkw lenses, you wont regret it! i finished mine up last night and cutoff and output was instantly better. taking apart the first headlight took a while, but once you figure out the process the second one is cake!

also im a bigger fan of the matching low/fog look, especially on cali streets. if you were living in the woods, then that's a whole different story

^ Nice! Yes I have the lenses so just a matter of installing them.
I can throw them on and leave the rest as is/was (4300K/4500K), or abandon the match and do 5000K/3000K. Truth is, 55w is so bright, that even the color-matched bulbs look different in person due to brightness so I rarely use them unless I "need" to. 3000K will be the same. When they burn out, I will get a 35w color-matched kit

Perfect. Not sure why PO went 55w.
I guess they're brighter for when ya need them ... But it's not like 35w is dull! And these do get warm...
The miss-match is what bothered me though. At least with the 3000K it doesn't even look like an attempt to match. I will keep the 4500K just to compare with 5000K. Will probably just keep the 3000K until I replace with a 35w kit, but that's not urgent.

Now these look like RTABs!
