Very nice my friend.

Definitely don't want to go with a catless set up while running an OEM muffler, ask me how I know. It sounds like straight garbage unless you plan on running some AR20's in your section 1. If your looking to stay relatively quiet, run a SGT muffler or maybe Dinan.

Also as Alex has already pointed out, stay away from the powerflex FCABs. New OEMs are just fine for an FCAB replacement. You can however run powerflex RTABs.

Love the e9X OEM 18's on our cars with some meaty tires.

Thanks! And yea maybe you misread. I'm replacing both midpipes with a catless 3" single pipe that'll actually get rid of all the rasp by itself. It will have 2 resonators as well mainly to decrease sound when the valve is open. So when closed it'll sound stock with a little more grunt, and when open it should be wild. I'm working with my shop to figure out the best placement for the resonators, so the sound level when open is actually drivable.

And yea I've decided to get OEM FCAB's and either AKG or Powerflex RTAB's.

Good list of modifications! Car seems to be coming along very well. Although I think aplhine white looks better with oem corners instead of amber. The bright orange throws off the balance of the car IMO.
Just my thought.
Good luck and keep it up!

Update here:

Took out my angel eyes. Much cleaner look now! Didn't take any pictures though.

Evolve-R Tune came in! Already sent my file to be tuned for my specific mods.

Sold off my Eurospec CSL trunk and picked up the OE trunk from the previous owner of the car. I eventually want to get an OE CSL trunk, so an OE trunk will have to do for now.

Swapped them out the next day, not too hard of a job, besides bolting up the OEM trunk by myself and that locking mechanism with no DIY was a pain, but I figured it out eventually. Ordered new trunk lining, roundel, badge, license plate holder and frame, and all the little hardware to give it a nice refresh.

Took off the Vorsteiner GTR hood as well, trading for a stock hood already AW. I've wanted that off for a while now, finally made it happen.

Packing it up. We got pretty creative and slid one box over the box with the hood, sort of like a sleeve to make it pretty easy for the other guy to slide mine out and slide his in with ease. We should work for FedEx

Took off the Eisenmann Race Le Mans muffler too. I'm going to miss it, but good thing I'll be replicating those tips for my OE muffler, even took the angle their cut at

Here's the OE muffler that's going on, I grinded all the rust off and then polished it with diamond polish. You can see right above the left tips where it's like a mirror. I ran out of time to get it finished and up to my standards before I had to bring it in to the shop, but I guess it'll do.

As I mentioned before, I brought my car in to FluidMotorUnion yesterday to have some work done! Driving an hour without a hood was pretty hilarious. Plenty of weird looks and even one guy rolled down his window to tell me I didn't have a hood

Work they will be doing:
Installing Supersprint V1 Stepped Headers
Installing BMW Motorsport 4.10 gears
Building a custom midpipe. 3" catless single pipe with 2 resonators and an electric valve cutout.
OE muffler with custom 83mm tips. Replicas of the Eisenmann.
Evolve tune.
Pre-mods, before tune, and after tune dynos. Videos of all.
Installing stock hood, and possibly painting and installing my OEM diffuser.

All the work will be documented and blogged on their website with plenty of pictures. Check it out, it's usually a good read everyday.

I'm still deciding on wheels. Some type of 18's in silver. Either wait it out for some TE37's, or get some silver OEM e9x 18's, which are impossible to find. Some decisions to make!

I'll update this with pictures from FMU as I get them.

Great update man!!

I think I have to stop by FMU now. Don't be surprised if your front bumper ends up being an OEM Jet Black one.....and you see a Jet Black E46 rolling around with an Alpine White Vorsteiner...

You'd be smart to get it painted… I was actually thinking of going back to an OEM, but since you want it now I'm keeping it How much were those Volks?

Hahaha....fair enough. Maybe one day we can do a trade

If I remember correctly, the pricing was just the MSRP. It was north of $4000

This

I've also started recommending the AKG RTABs. I recently installed a set; they're good stuff.

Nice car OP! I like the mods. I might be talking out of my ass but I feel like there's a little renaissance of the E46 M3 modding scene lately, with owners doing quality and purposeful mods (and maintenance). Either way, good stuff!
