Default Insurance coverage amounts

Hey guys,

I currently have full coverage through Erie for all three of my vehicles, but I think I'm going to make the switch to Grundy for my M3. My main motivation is to have full reimbursement on the value of the car with performance parts, something Erie wouldn't touch.

There are a bunch of old threads on this topic, but I wanted to see what kind of coverage amounts you guys have on your M3's. I could just copy what I'm getting from Erie, but I'm interested in what you guys are running and how much your premiums are.

Subscribed. Also curious to know what the premiums are for this type of coverage.

this can be done with allstate and I think geico too. They do charge you a premium per $1000 in modifications. Last I checked a few years ago, it was about 6-7$ a year per thousand.. If you have a fortune invest, then it's worth it.

Here is the previous discussion about Hagerty Insurance .. You can get an agreed value policy .. of course the higher the value the higher the premium. I believe Hargerty requires the vehicle to be garaged and not your daily driver. As for Grundy based on their commercial, I believe they offer daily driver coverage.

I pay $433/6 months for my M3 through state farm Full coverage with umbrella plan. State farm is pretty good with giving you value of car with mods if you have pictures or some receipts/documentation. Worse case you'll have to go to an arbitrator to get more out of it.

Hagerty has great rates if your e46 M3 is not a DD. I pay under $600 a year for full coverage.

I think some may be missing one of my main questions: What are the coverages that you have purchased through your insurance company?

300k Bodily/Property? 500k?
Medical Expense?
Uninsured Motorist?
Etc.

Just turned 23, clean record. I have Geico and pay $74/month, $880/yr for full coverage with 250/500k limits for liability and uninsured motorist. $100 comprehensive deductible and $250 for collision.

It's funny because I can insure a C7 Z06 for just slightly less, and that's an $80k+ car with double the horsepower... An F80 is about $90 per month. I suppose the improved crash safety of the newer cars helps a lot!
