Default extended warranty worth? For low miles M E46

Four time BMW owner but new to the site. I'm buying a 26,000 mile E46 M3 convertible. SMG transmission. Dealer is offering me 4-year, 44,000 extended warranty through Zurich covering drive tran engine, transmission etc. Apparently Zurich is a good shop...? They're a bit more expensive, but have a good reputation for paying. Should take the extended warranty? Thanks for any help!

Coverage limitations? Some cap total amount on given component, i.e. trans, engine, etc.. Had a Porsche Cayenne customer with a policy that capped trans repair at 2 grand, barely covers the cost of a valve body.

cheers

I wouldn't bother, you've got tons of maintenance $ to do with or without an extended warranty plus they don't cover much anyway or there are hoops to jump through.

A warranty is not free scheduled maintenance, in case that's what you're thinking.

My thoughts exactly, plus your car is low miles, and chances are nothing catastrophic will go wrong in the covered period. I say catastrophic because that is what insurance (aka warranty) is for.
My advice would be to take that money and use it for VANOS lock down and rear subframe epoxy and call it good.

Important detail! 3300 (form 4300 according to the dealer). She saying it's at cost for her... Car a very reputable BMW shop and the said that company plays out without issues.

That was I was thinking too. But after talking with a respected BMW tech not connected with the dealer he pointed out one of the risks of low miles M3 like this is that you don't know if there are factory defects until you get into the 35 45k milage. So for piece of mind he would consider it. I want to get some other opinions and appreciate your guys.

get quote and compare it with a fidelity platinum warranty.
this is what most dealers sell as an extended warranty when CPO is not an option.

For 3300, I would get vanos and subframe repairs done.. That should take care of the big ticket items..

If you can diy, it is relatively easy to work on these cars..
