Thank you for your thoughts, I appreciate it.

I'm curious to see what happens once I try and actuate the shifter once it's disconnected from the DSSR.

My AKG Stage II shifter (soon to be RTD) exhibits similar behavior into and out of reverse. I also installed new detents (ZF320 trans) and use the same AKG DSSR. Did you lube the new detent pins/springs with transmission fluid before installing them? Mine seemed to get less notchy/sticky as I drove the car so who knows.

The RTD boys are busy. I've been waiting since mid-December for mine but I think it's shipping this week.

This is really good to know.

Full disclosure: I have 0 miles on my clutch, detent pin refresh and RTD shifter...

I was going to ask a friend to shift it for me while I get under the car and watch the DSSR with a drop light.

Everything is lubed.

Springs, pins, detent bushings with ATF
DSSR, shift selector rod, Shifter base with white lithium
Shifter pivots and return spring under the cage with dry silicone.

It's an amazing piece for the price, I expect prices to go up soon. I think CAE is going to have to lower their prices to compete since this quality is identical as far as I can tell.

I would wait to drive it first then.

Everything in my car was brand new as well; clutch, flywheel, TOB, detents, AKG DSSR & shifter, swivel joint, selector shaft seal, input seal, output seal, etc.

It's likely everything needs to heat cycle a few times to settle in.

This is good, I really didn't want to start chasing down mysterious transmission gremlins

If it is a bolted plate shifter, you may have to adjust it anytime you disturb the things it connected to.

I'll update as soon as I get my RTD installed as we have the same hardware.

I would say it's the style of the shifter design is causing it. The spring looks like it provides positive engagement watching the videos.

Agree 100%, but RTD says they've never seen one of their shifters do this (not to say it's not possible, of course) and that they've never had a customer with an AKG DSSR, either.

I'm inclined to believe them because gears 1-5 are smooth and have no issues with engagement or release - only Reverse. Nothing is catching that I can see with the shifter, either. I got under the car and looked when it was in Reverse and there was clearance around everything.
