Default Re: Official MFactory/YCW CF D/S GB

Thanx guys for making this a smooth and successful GB, and I really appreciate all of the kind words and support shown by forum members! As Ian and others pointed out, it's pretty awesome that we still have companies developing amazing products for our aging but beloved platform...cheers to MFactory/YCW and others like them! Also, special thanx to Michael for allowing me to work with him on this product, and for allowing this GB to happen!

Again, sorry to everyone who didn't get in, and here's to a speedy 2nd GB for those still wanting a cf d/s. I think a few folks may still have some questions/concerns about shipping/cost related stuff, and hopefully Michael chimes in at some point to answer those questions.

To those that successfully signed up...I can only hope that when you all receive and install the final product that it meets or exceeds your expectations-as it did mine. I'm not planning on doing a d/s install DIY because I'm sure that there's probably already a few out there already. If one of the buyers receives theirs and wants to do one-more power to you! It's fairly straightforward and having access to a lift helps tremendously! I did it once on a lift and twice on my back and let me tell you...it's a much more enjoyable job on a lift-lol. Tips I can pass along:

1. You will more than likely need to loosen the trans mount and remove the front rear diff bolt to gain enough clearance to install the d/s...it's a bit of a tight squeeze.

2. Most of you will probably experience some minor rubbing of the d/s on the trans/d/s tunnel heat shielding. It may need to be ahem 'clearanced' slightly in one or more locations. (FWIW, mine rubbed in two spots...close to the front trans joint and back by the rear diff joint.) It's hard to know exactly where because of the flexible nature of the shielding itself. If you install it and spin the d/s by hand you may be able to detect any rubbing before driving and correct it prior to road testing. It's IMPORTANT NOT to gouge and/or avoid badly scraping the cf tube due to the nature of the tube not being metal, but a fibrous material. Think of any fibrous material and what tends to happen to it if you damage it. You don't want any potential weak spots in the armor-so to speak.

3. Michael said it's important NOT to expose the d/s to direct heat as the proprietary adhesive used to glue the joints is somewhat heat sensitive...to my knowledge, all cf d/s's are assembled this way.

Think that's it for now-GL everybody and hit me up if you need anything!

Any estimate on when deposit is due? I can't be constantly checking the forum for updates.

Agreed.

Everyone on the list is ready to pay now, why not just set a deadline a few days from now? What are we waiting on exactly?

For the simple reason that I do not have payment info yet, and I'm waiting to hear just like everyone else.

Michael will respond to everyone's questions either today or tomorrow...said he's having problems accessing from his location. I'm sure adequate time will be given to make your initial payment...I could possibly even PM the members on the sign up list when notice is given. The reason I said "immediate" is that we don't want members who signed up waffling over their decision to purchase when other members who may have missed out are ready to pay right away.

Makes sense. And in case I have not said it before, thanks for all your work making this happen.

Yes, a PM would be good, so we don't have to worry about losing our spot. I think everybody is a little paranoid right now because of how fast this (and the CSL trunk) GB filled up.

Stan, do you think it would be easier on you if we collect everyone's (paypal?) email, populate a contact group in Outlook or something, and forward that to Michael for the transaction notification?

Hey Brian, IDK man...at this point, I'm just waiting for Michael to chime in to post details of how he wants things handled moving forward.
