I would not answer your ad. Why? Here are a few of the reasons.

Because it is clear from the pictures that somebody rode the car hard and put it away wet. That doesn't scare me.

Because it appears that you slapped some new parts on the car, like lipstick on a pig to sell it. That doesn't scare me.

Because someone gutted the interior, then put the seats back in to sell the car. That doesn't scare me.

Because the ad tells me only what was done recently, there is no history of the car. That doesn't scare me.

What scares me is what it will cost when done. After I spend 4600 on the car I have to find a decent interior. I just bought an electric sport seat for my E82. That put me back $300 and I have to swap an airbag. What will a decent set of Vaders (which I don't care for) run me?

What will the rest of the interior run me? How beat up is the stuff you yanked out?

How old is the clutch? How worn are the rotors? Do I have to rebuild the calipers? Is the Vanos noisy? Has the oil pump nut been fiddled with? What is the serial number - does it have an early subframe with the swiss cheese holes around the motor mount? How old is the cooling system?

The bottom line is I could easily be into your car for over 8,000, and maybe even closer to 10,000 by the time I am satisfied that it would be a safe car that I would trust my daughter to drive, autocross and DE.
For 10,000 I can find a nice 128i, TT, 370Z, or E36 M3 that doesn't need much if anything, has a history, etc.

I hardly ever agree with Braymond, and today is no exception! Based on the ad you posted I wouldn't pay $2,000 even if I was local, and I wouldn't risk driving it a few hundred miles home based on how it is presented. I read your ad. I looked at the pictures. Assuming it doesn't have a salvage title, I wouldn't want to be into that car for over $7,000 and a few weekends because I wouldn't be able to get $7,000 after I did the work.

After I read your ad, I came away with the impression that it is a car a kid bought, decided to drift, beat the snot out of for a few months and now is trying to dump. While not an M3, there was a 2000 Celica manual on Craigslist recently. It had 84,000 miles, one owner who said he bought it when in his 30s and changed the oil every however many miles, said it had all original paint, and the pictures showed a very clean car. I read the ad, looked at the pictures, and knew this was a car that was taken care of. If the ad was posted one year from now I would have been on my way to his house with a check for the $5,000 asking price (which was high), and skipped the project part.

Good luck with the sale.

Nobody chased you off. You couldn't take constructive criticism and ran away whining that you were chased off.
