Tom,

Do you currently have a Stoptech or Brembo 13" brake kit on the car as well?

I'm playing devil's advocate a bit here. I went to their website to look up these plates and according to their description:

Quote:
•These brake cooling plates are specifically designed around the Stoptech & Brembo 13" brake kits. It will also fit Alcon and other manufactures with small modifications.
Quote:
•Also works well with OEM M3 Brakes
I see they designed these specifically for aftermarket kits and by modifying them a bit can be made to work with OEM M3 brakes. They don't make it painstakingly clear but it seems they're implying that although they work with the OEM brakes, they're not designed for them but CAN work with them.

The wording is as if they work well with stock brakes as-is, not with modification. If they can work with modifications on other brakes applies to OEM, the advertising needs to be changed.

You can't start a whole new bullet point with "Also works well with OEM M3 Brakes" and not include that they require modifications. You're also leaving out the next bullet point that only mentions modifications for aftermarket brakes.

EXACTLY THIS. If it said "Also works well with OEM M3 brakes with slight modifications" then that would be an accurate statement and there would be no confusion of what i was getting into.

The guy from Achilles did call me today after apparently hearing about this thread and offered to accept them back for a full refund. I said thank you and I appreciate you making it right. The conversation then turned ugly because I apparently I have spread misinformation and slandered his company to this forum.

I'm going to end up cutting the plates to fit and showing a side by side comparison of what is needed to make these plates work. I don't want other people making the same I did and know how much modification is necessary if they do.

Completely fair point. I was just trying to see it from their viewpoint.

Thanks for sharing your experience. Definitely is misleading.
I'll be sure to look elsewhere for these.

lol wut. That was all his doing, no one else. You can't admit fault and then further dig yourself into a hole. People here probably would have changed their opinion just hearing a full refund was being offered on a 2015 purchase!

Unfortunately I recently purchased something from them. If I have read about this experience first I would have went somewhere else.
Companies in this business need to understand that premium car owners drop premium dollars into performance modifications. Your treatment over the phone, even if you had made a mistake (which you didn't) is completely unacceptable.
It's nice they gave you a refund, but only after they realized you let others know about your experience. That's not really making me wanting to spend money there.

Updated with pictures to show what it takes to use these with stock M3 brakes for anyone else to fall into this trap
