Default 3.46 Diff = :)

Just replaced my 3.91 diff with a 3.46 unit with 40% lock up.

I wanted to thank those who recommended this setup, as this thing really flies with the six-speed transmission in a supercharged S52.

The acceleration is much more smooth and linear. I am also able to stay in the gear for a lot longer without having to waste time shifting more frequently.

But again, it seems like lately my happiness with the E36 doesn't really last too long. As I was happily trying out this new setup on an empty highway, a 996 Turbo crept out of nowhere and ruined the fun. From a dig I had no chance but at least I was able to maintain the gap between us once both cars got going.

Maybe the fact that I have a convertible with two huge amps in the trunk didn't help....

How does a 996 turbo compare to a supercharged S52 putting down around 380rwhp with a six-speed transmission in terms of acceleration? I had a slow start since I didn't want to dump the clutch but I wonder if I had a chance if I went all out.

Jon
