Default Big Brake Kit Reccomendation

So last two seasons I have been running Pagid RS/L 29 with DBA rotors. Looking to upgrade to a big brake kit this year and was wondering if anyone had some suggestions or opinions. I would like the AP Racing BBK, but itís not really within my budget of what I want to spend. Same goes for PFC. Been really looking at the ST40R Trophy Kit, or the Wilwood aero6. Was also thinking of just waiting for the C43 from Stoptech thatís in development. Any and all opinions welcome.

Thank You

Stoptech and brembo (996 or db9+996) is what I’d recommend if you’re on a budget. I bought db9 + 996 to keep consumable cost low until I decide to commit to AP bbk

For HPDE, Stoptechs have the lowest long term running costs if you use the Stoptech racing pads.

I have the 4 wheel BBK ST40/355 rotors all 4 corners.

Over 50 days (avg 4 sessions/day), all of my friction discs are still original and Iíve used up about 4 sets of pads. You can rotate pads and friction discs front to rear which is awesome. I probably have another 40 days with the rotors I have now.

My car is lightened, most of that running was at 3000lbs dry.

Now that Iím at 2600lbs dry, Iím thinking about going back to OEM but weíll see.

BUT...find me a BBK with lower running costs? I wonít argue that other BBKs might be better but performance has never been an issue. Theyíre good enough for HPDEíing.

I've been looking at Brembo, personally - some people love the ST40's, other people say the knock-back is unbearable

Never had knock back issues w the ST40 kit w floating rotors on my E92 M3. Would definitely purchase that kit again for the E46 when the time comes.

I have a colleague with an S2000 that loves them... and one with a Genesis that constantly had to tap the pedal.

I'm not convinced one way or another... but small differences (maybe even a generational one) seems to make big differences to different people. Apparently it all comes down to minute flexing that pushes the pistons back

If you really want stoptech, wait for the c43.

Any info yet on the M3 kit? Looks like the 330 kit is a 309mm rotor and uses a common Wilwood caliper pad.

It's on a few race cars for testing right now. I think I saw pending no issues it would be later this season.
