Default 2008 E92 M3 Competition Wheels rubbing

Hi all,

I bought my M3 used from Carmax with competition wheels but it looks like it might have originally come with 18s as the sticker on inside of the door indicates 18 inch tire sizes. When turning side to side the wheels rub the inner fender lining. Tire size is 245/35/19. Does the suspension have to be adjusted or something to accommodate the competition wheels?

2008 cars came with 18's or 19's, depending on what wheels were optioned with the car. Competition wheels came out in like 2010 or 2011 as part of the ZCP competition package. Package is just lower springs, stiffer shocks for lower springs, and different design 19 inch wheels. Won't cause rub. Alignment might be off, or you might have a tire with some really, really fat sidewalls. Not all tires are manufactured equal, and an advertised 245 tire amongst different manufacturers can for practical purposes be as much as a 10 wider tire.

Any chance you have a wheel that is not competition but looks like one? Or the front wheel well liners are messed up? A lot of these cars have trashed bumper under trays and the liners can get pushed towards the wheels.
