Red face Blower Motor Resistor

Can anyone tell me where the Climate Control Final stage unit is located on a 99 M3 convert. Is replacement do-able or does it have to be done by a dealer? My M3 air stopped blowing yesterday.
Also, is a 99 M3 an E-36 or E-46? I see it listed as either when shopping for a service manual. Bob

it's an E36. i had the same problem with mine, but i had warranty at the time, so the dealer fixed it for me and i am not familiar with the process.

the best service manual is the one on disk which you can find on ebay, the ETK and TIS, these are what the techs use and are much more detailed and informative than something like the bentley manual.
